
Rajeevan Selvaratnam, PhD, NRCC, DABCC, FCACB, FADLM

Dr. Rajeevan Selvaratnam is a clinical chemist board-certified by both the American Board of Clinical Chemistry and the Canadian Academy of Clinical Biochemists. He earned his PhD at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario Canada, where he focused on fundamental and biophysical aspects of protein-ligand interactions using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Subsequently, Dr. Selvaratnam completed a clinical chemistry fellowship at the University of Minnesota Medical Center that led to his position as a practicing clinical chemist in a large community hospital setting. Given his knack and affinity for academia, Dr. Selvaratnam returned to his hometown for an appointment as an academic clinical biochemist at the University Health Network. He is also currently part of an active faculty as an assistant professor involved in training the next generation of clinical chemists at the University of Toronto, where he teaches and supervises at all levels of post-graduate education. He is currently an active member of the Committee on Kidney Disease for the International Federation on Clinical Chemistry (IFCC) and has a research interest in kidney disease.
